Why the sky is blue
9
The blue color of the sky is primarily due to a phenomenon called Rayleigh scattering. When sunlight enters Earth's atmosphere, it contains a spectrum of colors, with shorter wavelengths (like blue and violet) being scattered more easily by the molecules and particles in the atmosphere. Since blue light is scattered in all directions, it becomes the predominant color we perceive when looking at the sky from all angles. This scattering effect is stronger during the daytime, giving the sky its characteristic blue hue.
