Less than 12 hours after transitioning into a tropical storm, Harold reached the shores of South Texas on Tuesday.

According to AccuWeather meteorologists, the impact of Harold is expected to persist over southern and western Texas, as well as northern Mexico, causing heavy rainfall and localized flash flooding until Wednesday.

The system will gradually weaken as it moves further inland.

Early this week, the Atlantic Basin witnessed a flurry of tropical activity, including the elevation of Tropical Depression 9 to the status of Tropical Storm Harold shortly after 1 a.m. CDT on Tuesday.
