Audio of record I purchased at the garage sale of Iggy Cascio

The video of the record playing is footage I found on the internet. It is not a video of the record I purchased from Iggy.

Historically, these types of records are ones which were created in small recording booths and are one-of-a-kind. The booths were popular in the 50s & 60s

The booths were used to send audio letters to friends and family as well as record people singing. Unsigned do-wop bands of the 50s would record their songs in these booths for demos and fun. You can find history on these booths online.

I used a bit of audio compression to bring up the sound levels of the talking between songs. That's why it sounds a little over-modulated during those times. Without the compression, it would be quiet as a mouse.

There is a woman singing here with great/strong vibrato. The distortion you hear was in the recording. There was no way to remove it.

There is some other talking in Spanish at the very end.

The recording certainly is a one-of-a-kind treasure from someone's past. Hopefully Iggy can shed some light on it. If so, I would love to hear about it.

If you find any other records or even films you need converted, let me know. These treasures are losing quality every year. Digitizing will help preserve them.Enjoy!

I am a Historian with the Illinois Rock & Roll museum and I digitize films and audio professionally. If Iggy has a bunch of vintage items he would like preserved, I would love to be a part of its restoration.
