Animal Control Abuse Of Power

Animal Control blocked Nate Harves vehicle and detained him for over 35 minutes. The AC officer did not know the ordinance but issued two citations anyway. It was 70° at dusk. She ignored proof that he had water for the dogs and said because I stopped for food for an hour, the dogs had to be in 100 square foot crates each. (Ten feet by ten feet each.) The city told him if he paid them $174 that would be the end of it. Nate requested a trial date and am trying to get help from sensible dog owners to retain legal counsel to best stand up to this wrongful abuse of authority in a court of law. Anyone that knows Nate knows his dogs are his life. It is simply wrong to harass and extort law abiding dog owners with “make it up as you go” enforcement violations that are not included in the actual ordinance. Please see the attached video.
