I think this is a rather complex topic. Analysts in the West say progress is very slow and the counter offensive will fail to reach the objectives with unnecesarry lives being lost. Basically that Ukraine should seek a forced peace, keeping the conflict up would mean unncessary Ukrainians will die and also the Russian army would ultimately gain more land and cities.
