Pouring Molten Aluminum - Metal Casting at Home

Melting Metal, Metal Casting with Molten Aluminum is such an easy thing to do. Using the Lost Foam Casting Technique makes it super simple. Aluminum is one of the easiest metals to acquire. I melt copper and brass too, but aluminum is a lower melting temperature than those. To melt the aluminum, or any metal, you need a melting furnace. I normally use a propane furnace, but today I am using my electric furnace. I will make up the mold using dry sand and bury my foam patterns into it. I made the foam patterns using my CNC machine. I am using polystyrene XPS. That is the best type of foam when metal casting this way. If you like this video, head over to my videos and check out some of my latest metal casting videos.
