Watch as a tornado hits the back of this house in Wardsville, MO while Mason and Mia record their very first video on May 19th, 2017. It's an incredibly scary moment, but the family managed to find shelter - although the back of the home's roof and deck did suffer damage.

Saturday May 20 was cleanup day in Wardsville. A small tornado packing 100-miles-per-hour winds tore out roofs and trees early the previous evening. There were tree and other damages in some parts of the town, while other parts saw heavy damage to trees and structures from Friday’s heavy storm. One home sustained significant roof damage, another sustained minor roof damage, and two large trees fell on a third home. Trees were damaged, some of which were snapped or uprooted.

The Tornado outbreak sequence of May 15–20, 2017 was a prolonged period of tornado activity that affected the Great Plains, Great Lakes, and Ohio Valley during mid to late May 2017. This outbreak sequence was the most prolific tornado event of 2017 in terms of number of tornadoes. It is also notable for producing the longest-tracked tornado in Wisconsin state history. The outbreak sequence resulted in two deaths and several injuries.

If you do find yourself facing a tornado storm, look for the lowest possible level of your house or try to put as many walls between yourself and the storm as possible and stay inside until it is safe.
