We are on vacation in Belize just north of Seine Bight. This is only the second time we have rented a cabin instead of doing the resort vacation it allows us to have a bit more control over our diets and encourages us to get out into town and experience the culture and day to day lives of the local people.

So today we thought we would show you how we are eating and planning our meals while on vacation.

When it comes to our meal plan not everything that we commonly have at home is readily available here. For breakfast the biggest one is when it comes to fruit. They do not have the wide plentiful variety we have at home. Blueberries are not readily available here so we just substituted out with cantaloupe. Other than that our day to day breakfast is the similar as at home I have a couple of eggs oatmeal with no fat Greek yogurt and some fresh fruit

One of the biggest challenges we have when we are on vacation is our alcohol consumption. To help offset this we are either walking everywhere or riding bikes. Golf carts are a common site here as gas and vehicle rentals are quite expensive. So far are walks haven’t been much longer than 2 miles

We bought some beef tenderloin off a local organic farmer it was a little chewy. Chicken and pork is way more plentiful here.
We didn’t bring a food scale with us and haven’t seen one for sale here so I have to estimate portion sizes. One of the advantages of logging all our food for so long is we get pretty good at eyeballing portion sizes. My rule of thumb is if your trying to lose weight and you are unsure of the portion size them always conclude it is larger than you think and if your trying to gain weight then it is smaller than you think.
