Extreme Cold -25c Solo Camping In The Jeep XJ (Overland Vlog 9)

Extreme Cold -25c Solo Wilderness Jeep Camp.
Temperatures are extremely low at the moment and daylight hours are at there lowest. I venture out to one of my favourite spots to spend a couple of nights camping in my Jeep Cherokee XJ. Temperatures started at around -13c and dropped steadily to -25c in the early hours of the morning. These kind of temperatures are extreme for camping and my setup is obviously taken to its limits, including my camera gear.
Water freezes, gas bottles don't gasify well, batteries read 0 percent even though they are fully charged. My setup was never designed for such temperatures but for me personally I enjoy experiencing these difficult conditions to see where the cracks are.
Unfortunately one of the main areas I need to improve on is the insulation under my sleep mat which I underestimated due to my previous camping experiences with the 8.1 R value on the EXPED MegaMat Duo 10.
Despite trying to insulate under the mat with the what I had with me I couldn't fend of the cold for longer than a couple of hours. Insulation is needed under the mat and I have since solved this issue with a thick thermal layer which can be removed and stored in the summer.
