I can only assume he was singing "there are no strings on me" (Yeah, I know it's actually called "I've Got NO Strings." Out of all the creepy doll stories, this is one of them.

Never found Howdy Doody or puppets or dolls entertaining. I don't get the appeal. Maybe if they're softline puppets, but then you're just playing with stuffed animals, which is acceptable. Puppet people are weird. No offense to the puppet people. I'm weird too. Just look at the weird stuff I upload. Weird.
