No evidence that Aboriginals have occupied Australia for 60,000 years - Senate 9.8.23

In the last sitting week I called out the claim that Aboriginals have lived uninterrupted in Australia for the last 60,000 years.
There is no evidence for that claim whatsoever.

The oldest known biped skeleton Mungo man is dated at between 24,000 to 42,000 years old but there are questions around the DNA sequence found in the Mitochondria as to whether or not the skeleton is of a homo sapien.
The size of one skeleton found at Lake Mungo is over 190cm casting more doubt as to its origins.

It should also be noted that remains dated as recently as 10,000 years ago have been found at Kow Swamp that are different from modern Aboriginal crania.

Then there are the Denisovans and I quote:
“Aboriginal people in Australia contain both Neanderthal DNA, as do most humans, and Denisovan DNA.
This latter genetic trace is present in Aboriginal people at the present day in much greater quantities than any other people around the world.
It also raises the question of where and when the ancestors of current humans, who were on their way to colonise New Guinea and Australia around 50,000 years ago, met and interacted with the Denisovans.”

It’s unlikely the truth will ever be known due to the lack of evidence.
It’s quite fanciful to think that a race of people arrived in Australia 60,000 years ago and lived happily ever after with no intertribal warfare or further invasion by other races.
