Abandoned Baby Raccoon Isn't Happy About Being Rescued
Imagine walking in your own backyard and seeing a small, furry, black ball hiding in the grass. First you do not know what it is. The second you find out that it is an abandoned baby raccoon you say to yourself, oh, how cute it is. Instinctively you reach to help him, but surprisingly it growls.
A woman found on her driveway a tiny baby raccoon with no parent in sight. Most likely his mother was trapped and transported away to a reserve to protect the woman’s chickens. Humorously against her will, this small raccoon will be nurtured till he gets on his feet and than will be released back into the wild at an animal reservation. This little guy is really cute, but is pretty fierce as well for a raccoon of his size. First he crawls backwards, frightened of the woman that is trying to save him. At the end, she covers him with a blouse and lifts him up.
She even tries to communicate with him, making a little chat in order to relax him, but it seems it does not work. The baby raccoon starts to snarl and hiss, showing off his tiny teeth. In trouble, but still does not want to be rescued. Bandit-masked raccoons are a familiar sight just about everywhere, because they will eat just about anything. These ubiquitous mammals are found in forests, marshes, prairies, and even in cities. They are adaptable and use their dexterous front paws and long fingers to find and feast on a wide variety of fare.
The fur of this baby raccoon is an interesting mixture of colors such as black, white and grey. They blend together nicely, giving him a smokey look. Most often, raccoons are characterised by being naughty, stealing food and making mess around people’s gardens, tearing garbage bags apart, and getting into everything but this one is somehow lost and lonely. His eyes are little glossy balls of light brown, like copper over honey, and his black striped tail sways back and forth, as if he is a dog. Abandoned and lonesome as he is, he still makes a fuss when being rescued. Apart from the lady’s soft voice and her attempt to give clear instructions of what she is going to do next, the raccoon can’t stop hissing because he feels intimidated. It’s a totally new environment for him, far away from his mom and the wilderness and he doesn’t know what to expect.
As it seems, the lady as well is a bit afraid as she says she doesn't know whether he has teeth. She wraps him up in an old shirt and he clutches onto the shirt, protesting to get out with his black hands and hisses at the lady is trying to rescue him. However, the raccoon is not used to being held in such a confinement so he puts up a fight to get down. No matter how much he likes to roam freely around, he is helpless and he can barely walk. He needs his mom to show him the way and give him the shelter he needs.
