The Moon's phase and libration, as seen from the Northern Hemisphere, are displayed in this 4K visualization at hourly intervals throughout the year 2021. An hour is shown by each frame. This graphic also displays the Moon's true scale distance from the Earth, sub-Earth and subsolar points, and orbital position. Along with Apollo landing sites, Maria, and other albedo features in sunlight, craters close to the terminator have labels. NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center provided the video.
