However, Spain began to gain the upper hand, and they eventually took the lead in the 56th minute through a stunning strike from Ceballos. The Real Madrid midfielder picked the ball up on the edge of the box and curled an unstoppable effort into the top corner of the net.

England pushed for an equaliser, but Spain held firm to secure a 1-0 victory.
