NASA's Lucy Mission: Giant Solar Arrays for Epic Space Odyssey!

NASA's Lucy project is presently examining the unfurling of its solar arrays within a thermal vacuum enclosure situated at Lockheed Martin Space in Littleton, Colorado. These two circular arrays, each spanning nearly 24 feet (7.3 m), are set to be the vital power source for Lucy as it embarks on a 12-year expedition navigating through the Jupiter Trojan asteroids. A record-breaking solar powered journey awaits, encompassing a remarkable 530 million miles (853 million km) away from the Sun. These expansive arrays are poised to effectively capture the necessary solar energy, thus fueling the spacecraft on its profound voyage across the depths of space.
