Whereas Romans 8 is often seen as one of the most beloved chapters in the Bible, Romans 9 is one of the most controversial. The language of Chapter 8 was full of assurance. Chapter 9, by contrast, if taken out of context, can breed immense confusion and uncertainty. As we begin, I want us to remember the repeated assurances we have been given in Romans thus far, specifically in Chapter 8. But also remember these two verses we'll cover in more detail as we get into Chapter 10.

"9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation." -Romans 10:9-10
