I don’t think that anyone would disagree with me that we are living in uncertain times. In fact one could say that we live in perilous times as prophesied by the Apostle Paul in 2Timothy 3:1 where he wrote; “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.” KJV Indeed, the time in which we live has become quite perilous. There is war in Europe that could escalate into World War III. There is economic uncertainty and instability due to massive government debt and out of control inflation. There is lawlessness in our big cities. There is corruption in government on a scale that we have never witnessed before and we are being invaded as our southern border remains open to the influx of illegal aliens from all around the world.

Many are troubled and scared. It’s not quite to the point of Luke 23:30 when our Lord on His way to Calvary made this statement to the women lamenting Him; “Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us.” ESV However, the hardships may well be just beginning.

That is why I was led to the Book of Habakkuk. It is a not one of the most familiar books in the Bible as it is nestled among the minor prophets between Nahum and Zephaniah in your Bibles. Habakkuk may be somewhat obscure, but it is a blessing during times of uncertainty. It is a blessing when God’s people begin ask “where is God and why is He not dealing with the evil?” We certainly see how evil has manifested itself in America and how evil in the form of Vladimir Putin is on the move internationally. Hence, the Scripture written by Habakkuk is very apropos for our world today.
