Fighting Domestic Terrorism: A New War on Terror?

The new Biden Administration is facing calls for new domestic terrorism laws, in response to the US Capitol Hill riot following a major Trump rally with Trump supporters. But with Congress busy with the second trump impeachment, and the Capitol still flooded with National Guard, will domestic terrorism legislation be high on the priority? And could fears about white supremacists and domestic terrorism be used like another War on Terror, to enact and new Patriot Act that would further undermine American freedom and democracy?
