BMW Letron
Turkish company 'Letvision, has been quietly
assembling real-life Transformers out of BMWs.
Except they don't call them Transformers - they call
them Letrons. 12 of Letvision's engineers have been
building a fully-working prototype, which they call
ANTIMON. Letvision has plans to create a whole line
of the robots, which will transform out of various
models of BMW cars. The Hum Rider is an SUV fitted with custom
hydraulics elevating it five feet in the air, offering
enough clearance for it to rise above cars and cut
through traffic. The driver can raise vehicle's body
above traffic by pressing a switch on the dashboard.
Truly, the Hum Rider is the Optimus Prime of the
automotive world.
The car put under test was Kia's SUV, Borrego. KIA
Motors dubbed the transforming SUV as ROBOKIA.
The company showcased the same at São Paulo
International Motor Show.Wild Fennec Defender:

EO Smart Connecting Car by DFKI - Bremen:
Created by DFKI Robotics Innovation Center, the EO
Smart Connecting Car 2 adapts to the urban
environment like a rat squeezing through cracks in a
boarded-up building. It can shrink to take up less
space, and even drive sideways into parking spaces.
The pod-like design features seating for two and four
electric motors, one mounted to each wheel hub. This
design allowed engineers to give the car some serious
turning ability. Each wheel can rotate 90 degrees. The
EO Smart Connecting Car 2 isn't destined for
production, but it demonstrates possible ways to
make cars easier to use in cities.
