The NASA Psyche mission is a journey to a unique metal-rich asteroid orbiting the Sun between Mars and Jupiter. The asteroid Psyche is thought to be the exposed nickel-iron core of an early planet, one of the building blocks of our solar system. The mission will use a high-powered solar electric propulsion spacecraft to orbit Psyche for 21 months, mapping it and studying its properties.
