Having experienced Breast Implant Illness, Amanda explanted, detoxed, and finally healed. This illness and recovery inspired Amanda to guide other women through their explant journeys. In her survival, she has found a niche as a patient advocate for women experiencing BII. She has advised thousands of women globally. Celebrities, athletes, and prominent businesswomen have trusted her expertise to support them through their health crises.

Amanda has appeared on KIRO TV and KTLA Channel 5, as well as contributed to the podcasts – What Say You with Gavin McCleod-Valentine, Awesome In and Out with Sarah Anne Stewart, Be Real Babe Podcast, Mother to Mother, Kathryn For Real, Beyond the OR with Dr. B, The Freedom CEO Podcast, Healing the Source, Awakening with Ali, and many more. Robyn Towt, Patient Advocate is a three-time cancer survivor, most recently diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017. She is an advocate for raising awareness about breast implant safety and proper informed consent regarding breast implants. She is co-founder of the Global Patient Advocacy Coalition (GPAC) and I am also an administrator in various online support groups for women who are suffering from Breast Implant Illness.

She worked extensively with Arizona legislators in passing an informed consent law for breast implant surgery and our GPAC team is currently working on similar legislation in several other states. GPAC has also partnered with the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) to develop a patient decision checklist for breast implant surgery. In 2022, she collaborated with policymakers to update NCCN guidelines for breast cancer to include Aesthetic Flat Closure as a surgical option after mastectomy.

She enjoys medical research and has published articles in several magazines, as well as a medical journal and a medical textbook. She believes every patient should be given the information needed to make informed and educated decisions about their healthcare treatment and surgical options.
