Israel attempts to freeze funds for higher education of Palestinians

Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has agreed to re-allocate funds to help integrate East Jerusalem residents into Israeli universities, backing down from his recent insistence to freeze this money, citing ‘rising extremism’ within the institutions.

The CEO of the National Committee of Arab Local Councils in Israel, Ameer Bisharat, believes the minister's attempted move is aimed at weakening Palestinian communities in Israel.
