Today's budget tip answers a common question with zero-based budgeting - "Does my checking account have to start and end at ZERO?!?!" The answer is NO! But it does have to start and end with the same number - a predetermined buffer that will live in your checking account to keep you from over drafting and act as a mini emergency fund.
