Although water is present on the Moon, might future astronauts get it and use it? That is the aim. That is a question that NASA is actively attempting to address. Our Polar Resources Ice Mining Experiment-1 (PRIME-1) will robotically sample and study ice from beneath the lunar surface once it lands in the lunar south pole, aiding in the search for water on the Moon:
