What exactly did Jesus mean by "Love your enemies?" (Pt. 8 of "What forgiveness is vs. is NOT". )

The issue of forgiveness (what it is vs. what it is not), is one of the most misunderstood issues, which is leaving countless survivors and others... who've been significantly negatively impacted by predators, perpetrators, and oppressors... tied up in emotional knotts, saddled with false guilt, and wondering if their pain actually matters to God. This is a needless tragedy, and is inevitably the result of a fundamental misunderstanding of Jesus' teaching on forgiveness, put forth by those who haven't taken the time to look into which original words Jesus did vs didn't use in the passage. The exact words He used will clarify the issue, and free Survivors from false guilt.

In this continuation of our series on Forgiveness: What it is vs. What it is NOT", on 'Journey to Healing, Jon K. Uhler, LPC, continues to unpack one of the most often misunderstood passages in Scripture, where Jesus told his followers they should "Love your enemies" (Mt 5:34), and "Do not resist one who is evil" (Mt. 5:39).
