Our own Milky Way galaxy is a barred spiral galaxy, and it contains our solar system along with countless other stars and objects. Galaxies can be found throughout the universe, often clustered together in groups called galaxy clusters. The study of galaxies is a fundamental aspect of astronomy, helping us understand the structure, evolution, and dynamics of the cosmos on a large scale.
