During a leg press workout, you can adjust the amount of weight you're pushing against to suit your fitness level and goals. This exercise is great for building strength and muscle in your legs, increasing explosive power, and enhancing overall lower body strength.
To perform a leg press properly, start by adjusting the seat and foot platform to ensure proper alignment of your knees, hips, and feet. Sit with your back firmly against the backrest and place your feet shoulder-width apart on the platform.
Next, press through your heels to extend your legs and push the platform away from your body until your legs are almost straight. Pause briefly at the top and then slowly lower the platform back to the starting position without letting your knees collapse inward.
