Past BBC report on the Home Office plans to house 1500 illegal migrants at RAF Scampton with a statement from Sir Edward Leigh MP.

In a heated meeting of residents, the concerns over the development of a 1,500-strong migrant camp on the site of the Dambusters' former RAF base were made very clear.

In RAF Scampton in Lincolnshire, a primary school hall was jam-packed with locals opposed to the Home Office's plan on Monday night.
Crowds overflowed out of Pollyplatt Primary School, requiring several police reinforcements.

To the sound of cheers, an audience member accused the Government of “s***ing on all those men (of the Dambusters), all of us – our history is getting thrown away for people who are illegal immigrants”.
