WOMEN EMPOWERMENT: MEDIA SOUGHT AFTER FOR SENSITIZATION PURPOSES

Government has announced plans to further empower women financially as a pathway of dragging most, if not all Ugandans into the money economy.
Recently, government through the ministry of gender, labor and social development launched a program dubbed GROW through which rural women will access grants to help them overcome poverty.
Addressing media operators on this development, the minister for gender, labor and social development Betty Amongi echoed the importance of media in sensitizing masses about government programs thus causing appreciation which in return guarantees desired results.
