Even Gale was shocked by the Big Ass Filter and how little it restricted airflow. With less restriction, more air can make it to your intake manifold, and subsequently, your cylinders. With more air available, a turbo diesel engine like the Duramax L5P can reduce turbine shaft speed, and make the same horsepower as stock with less wear on the turbo and less back pressure in the exhaust. Or, if you want to go a little bit quicker, that extra air can be used to make more power.
