"By-Tor and the Snow Dog" is the fourth song on Rush's second album, Fly by Night. The song is a parable about the struggle for power between good and evil. It tells the story of the battle between By-Tor, a demon prince, and the Snow Dog, a symbol of goodness, in the mythical realm of Hades. By-Tor takes the "Tobes of Hades," while the Snow Dog takes the "River Styx." The battle is described in the instrumental section, and eventually, the Snow Dog triumphs, bringing peace and justice back to the realm
