What is traction compound and why do you need it? Well in this video I give you a brief description of what it is and how to use it. I also use some helpful advice on tire pressure and chassis tuning from my friends @Levisbackyardperformance and @JustMoparJoe . Trying to get this 1968 Ford Thunderbird powered by a 521 cubic inch big block stroker isn't actually easy seeing I have a 4500 RPM stall converted and 4.30 gears. I did three "Cuban" test hits and had to do them quickly, the fuzz was out thick! The first test hit was with no traction compound, the second was with Stripper Glitter compound, and the third was with Jegs compound. Now, I wasn't making full on hard passes, I was just doing 60 foot time testing. I was testing on an old asphalt road, definitely not ideal at all. The first two test hits produced 2.14 and 2.22 60 foot times. Not too bad for the surface I was working with. The third test hit was a massive fail, didn't even register a 60 foot time on my Dragy. Spinning isn't winning but I am making progress. Once I get this all sorted out, this will be a very fast street car! I will get this dialed in, I have some drag racing to do at the No Name Nationals! My plan is to put a whooping on Mr. Hanney, the Hemi Powered Ford truck from @coperacingtrans !!!
