Children's sermon about Matthew, when Jesus teaches that only He can reveal the Father and that His yoke is easy and his burden is light. Do you know that bumper sticker that says “a bad day fishing is better than a good day at the office?” Well, at not so inspired and sometimes distracted children's sermon is still good. That's because we're in it for the long game. Our children need us to tell them the Scriptures and sometimes they're very attentive and amazing and sometimes things are, well, you’ll see. I still count this as a win! If God allows it will be one of hundreds of times that I teach the Scriptures to my grandson and other children in the parish and they will learn to love the Scriptures and use them as a guide for the way to live their life. It is our practice to do a children’s sermon most the time on Wednesday and Thursday liturgy, and on Sunday after liturgy. Sometimes Owen is the only child present on Thursday liturgy but he is still a “parishioner” and he loves to have all my attention when I talk to him about the Scriptures. And of course, since I was video recording, he was even more interested! 4th Thu after Pentecost, 6/29/2023. At the end (6:23) there are some” bloopers”.
