I took my kids on a backpacking trip into the wilderness of California. After 10 years I decided to take up backpacking and bring my kids along. I only planned for a one-night trip into the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Our destination was Boulder Lake in the Iceberg Wilderness near Clark Fork in the Stanislaus National Forrest. The area is located off of Highway 108 in California.
We started the hike at 11 am and made it to our camping destination around 2 pm. It was the longest hike my children had ever been on. We never made it to the lake but made the best of the trip. Prior starting our hike we met a State Fish and Wildlife employee that let us help plant Trout in the river.
On our way out home, we stopped and fished in the North Fork of the Stanislaus River.

This was a great trip and was nice to get back into hiking and introduce the fun to my kids.
