The Dangers Of Christians Listening To Secular Music

Satan perverts everything God creates.

Purpose of music.
1. Worshipping God. (Ps 150v1-6) (At second 0:26, I misspoke and referenced Psalm 105 instead of the correct reference Psalm 150)
2. Refreshing (1 Sam 16v23)
3. Warning of danger (Neh 4v20)
4. Surprise the enemy (Judg 7v16-22)
5. Encourage others (Eph 5v19)

What lyrics are being sung?
God inhabits the praises of His people (Ps 22v3)
Faith comes by hearing (Rom 10v17)
Bad songs can be seeds into the flesh (Gal 6v8)
Provision for the flesh (Rom 13v14)
"Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy – meditate on these things." Philippians 4v8

Is your music drawing you near to the Holy Spirit or quenching Him? Is your music feeding the flesh or building your spirit? Not all secular songs are equally bad but none of it is neutral.
