Question: How does cortisol &
stress hold onto fat?
-puts you in fight or flight mode
-liver MAKES sugar, sends to
muscles for flight
-LAST thing is digesting food
Question: in context of healing...
"CALORIES DON'T MATTER;
CALORIES DON'T MATTER,
but most need to eat to satiety"
Hormones MATTER...
-stress is INFLAMMATION
-could be hair dye, skin cream
[full of xenoestrogens]
"If body is in fight or flight;
does NOT WANT TO RID FAT"
When in fight or flight: no cardio
"Doing too much cardio, I maxed
out my adrenals"
-not hurting adrenal tissue, but
-body will not allow chronic high
cortisol: burns neurons & bones
-brain & pituitary gland will NOT
produce ACTH [pituitary hormone]
-end up with LOW CORTISOL
-high cortisol eventually is LOW
Caffeine & cardio will force adrenals
to make cortisol...WON'T RECOVER
Studies: if heart rate is high for
15 minutes...body will produce
cortisol
-need to keep it under 15 min
-weight-training allows pause
between sets
-HIIT constantly keeps heart rate up
Long walks are wonderful...
-in parasympathetic state
[not on treadmill 'faster!']
"The heart rate deal comes from
'calories in calories out'
DOES NOT WORK
IT IS NOT TRUE
Hormones matter: they decide
