So how did the State of Israel come to be? In this video, I'll try to explain its entire history, similar to how Israel's history is explained. Which country is the old Israel located in? Who expelled the Jews from ancient Israel and destroyed it? What transpired to the Jews during that time? How did the Jewish people manage to survive? Which individuals assisted him and which ones tortured him? And whose labour and suffering allowed the new Israel to be constructed in the end? Abraham is credited with establishing the idea that there is only one God, which is whence the term "Jewish People" and the people of Israel, both of whom share this name, derive. The patriarchs of the Israelites are referred to as Abraham, his son Isaac, and his great-grandson Jacob (Israel). The Land of Canaan, subsequently known as the Land of Israel, was the home of all three of the patriarchs.

Israel gets its name from the moniker given to Jacob. His 12 sons ruled over the 12 tribes that eventually united to form the Jewish people. One of Jacob's 12 sons, Yehuda (also known as Judah), is where the name Jew originates. Israel, Israeli, and Jewish are hence names for people that have a common ancestry.
