We are on to the biggest and bloodiest battle of the war so far. The battle of Shiloh was fought April 6-7, 1862 in Hardin County, Tennessee. All hell breaks loose when General Johnston led a surprise attack on General Grant's army nearby. The resulting two day battle left many realizing that this war was far from over, and likely to get even more bloody. General Johnston was killed during the battle, making him the highest ranking officer to be killed on either side during the whole war.
