John 13:23
"One of them, the disciple whom Jesus loved, was reclining next to him."

Isn't it amazing that in a group of twelve men, that included Peter, James, and others. That John the Apostle would be singled out as Jesus' closest friend. John the Beloved. The only one that didn't abandon Jesus during His crucifixion. The only Apostle not to be martyred.
