Amazon rainforest nations meet for joint summit

Brazil President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva stressed the need for coordinated action and cooperation among the eight Amazon rainforest countries to reach a broad agreement on issues from fighting deforestation to financing sustainable development during the Amazon Summit on Tuesday (August 8).
