08/06/2023 Over the last few years, Chinese nationals have been convicted of stealing genetically engineered corn seeds in Iowa, rice seeds in Kansas and a company software farm algorithm in Missouri. China now owns 384,000 acres of land in the US. Particularly alarming or attempted agricultural land purchases near US military bases, land that lawmakers warn could be used for spying or for spreading bioweapons that could decimate American crops.
