I think it is spiritually healthy and normal to want to do as much for the Lord as possible. When a person is very alive in Christ there is a drive to want to get involved in many things. There are many visually appealing things that are seemingly convincing that they are of God. This is most always the common snare.

Many believers for a variety of reasons make haste to grab onto a ministry or position they think is for them. Unfortunately there are many casualties. When David wanted to bring the ark back into the Holy City he did so with haste. In fact the entire procedure was an epic failure. Even though it all "looked" like it was of God.

Uzzah was the man who stretched out his hand and grabbed a hold of the ark to keep it from falling. He committed a grievous error and breach against God and he died beside the ark. David waited for three months and came back and did it the right way. (2 Samuel 6:1-15).

What might you be stretching out your hand to do that God has not asked you to do? We waste a lot of energy on things not meant for us. Living a life of faith often means leaving things alone. Be humble in your walk with the Lord. When it is time for you to be sent on the King's errand you will know it. Just be a ready-servant of Jesus.

“Have you been asking God what He is going to do? He will never tell you. God does not tell you what He is going to do; He reveals to you Who He is.”
