Alley of the Baobabs, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Madagascar, is a stunning series of baobab trees that line the 260-meter stretch of dirt road between Morondava and Beloni Tsiribihina in the west of the country.

Critically endangered baobabs are often referred to as "upside down trees" because of their root-like branches. In general, baobabs do not have annual rings, but according to many studies and assurances, they can live for more than 800 years, reach a height of more than 30 meters.

The alley is most impressive at dawn and dusk when the trunks change color and cast shadows.
