The match was a physical one, with both teams playing hard. Orlando City had the better of the first half, and took a 1-0 lead in the 36th minute. However, Inter Miami came out strong in the second half, and equalized in the 57th minute through Benjamin Cremaschi.

Messi then scored the go-ahead goal in the 89th minute, and Inter Miami went on to win 3-1. The victory was Inter Miami's second in the Leagues Cup.
