Chancellor's Report to the Great Monarch 011 - Curiosity and Mystery

This is a series of videos I make where I play the fictional role of a chancellor advising the Great Monarch. I make twenty-three points about whatever subject matter I'm covering in the video. If you'd rather drink from the source, study the Bible (get a Catholic one, not a Lutheran edit), the Catechism, Mystical City of God, Marian Apparitions, and listen to good priests who are my superior in these things in general.

"Miracle chasing" is a dangerous activity for the soul. Our Lady said in Mystical City of God (Vol II 529): When such inquisitiveness arises from one's own natural inclination, one must be equally careful not to follow or attend to it. For in what concerns such high matters as familiar intercourse with the Lord, one's own reason and judgement is not a safe guide, it being hampered by evil inclinations and passions. Our depraved and infected nature has been thrown into great disorder by sin, and is subject to much confusion and excess, making it unfit for guidance and direction in the high things of God. Equally wrong is it for the soul to rely on divine revelations in order to free itself from suffering and labor; for the spouses of Christ and his true servants must not seek his favours for the purpose of avoiding the cross, but in order to seek and bear it with the Lord.

It means to say that experiencing or being naturally curious about the surreal is not a bad thing if in doing so you seek to carry the cross, walking in your ideal path towards God. Some people condemn chasing after the surreal entirely and they'll say "you really have the most faith if you don't need to witness any miracles"... or something to that effect. This is false; faith is a good fire, but it still has to be sparked, and it doesn't get sparked because you read books or talk to people. Were this the case, I would not think that God was with the Catholic Church; but because he has performed works through the saints of the Catholic Church, I believe that the Catholic Church is the institution he uses to carry his torch.

I go over, in this video, what's good to ponder and what one should avoid.
