Jesus had scripture memorized. He used it to fight against the devil during his temptations (Luke 4). If it is important enough for God to memorize, then it is way more needed for us to memorize His Word. It is a comfort, a help in times of need, and God can bring Scripture to memory when we ask for wisdom. If you don't know any scripture what will God bring up?
