Assaulted by Police The Artist Strikes Back

Nathan is a brilliant artist who's vibrant work spreads messages of love, peace and conciliation between the police and the public. It is therefore not surprising that he was targeted for assault and battery and his artwork smashed to pieces by the TSG (riot police). Artwork that presented a policeman meditating with the word 'Love' prominently displayed, as it was called Statutory Love. This happened at the Mass Non-Compliance March in London 22/7/23.

He went to Soctland Yard after recovering from his injuries in order to respond to his assault in the best way possible. We staged a 2-man protest with his semi-destroyed and surviving artwork displayed under the Scotland Yard sign. The work has not really been destroyed but metamorphisised into a new work called 'Bagged Democracy' that will be displayed outside the Tate in the near future. Nathan will also be finalising a piece soon that displays a crab holding the offending copper's badge numbers in each claw. This is inspired by the TSG logo of a scorpion as well as Nathan being a cancerian and The Prodigy's artworks.

It is important not to lose perspective here after watching such a brutal attack on a peaceful and loving man as Nathan. As he demonstrates the correct response is not to demonise the police but to continue to try and reach out to them, for after all they are still humans. Better behaviour is necessary and we will miss them when they're gone and replaced by AI technological terrors. For those who hate them too much to stomach this, bare in mind I feel the same way about doctors. But not all doctors, as ER Drs can be quite bad ass at times. Nathan believes the police are still worth communicating with and I salute him for that. He does not give up on people no matter how badly some treat him.

This man has serious bravery as the state does not like artists presenting reality and truth in any way towards them and the public. I wish all artists and people had his bravery and stood up for what they know is right. Nathan is an example to people and artists everywhere. As the lady said 'Love will always win in the end'.
