3 Favorite Wrestlers Who Were Never NWA, WCW, or WWF Champions
As a child of the '80s, there were things I loved. I loved video games, clearly, I loved RC Car racing, Saturday morning cartoons, and of course, I loved wrestling. As such I've continued to watch since then. Originally a WWF kid, I moved over to WCW during the nWo era. I've gone back to watch stuff from the '60s and '70s to see things I've missed, matches I've forgotten, and wrestlers I never saw. I've also gone back and watched the NWA era and Jim Crocket Promotions to see what I missed by sticking to the WWF. Over all that time, and now today, I've watched a lot or wrestling, which got me wondering who are my 3 Favorite Wrestlers Who Were Never NWA, WCW, or WWF World Champions.
Honorable Mention:
Mr. Perfect Curt Henning
One of the greatest technical wrestlers, he was an amazing talent in the ring. Between Perfect and Bret Hart, they set the standard higher than almost any one else. While he was US and Intercontinental champion, he never won the big belt.
Number 3
Scott Hall
Whether he was Razor Ramon or Scott Hall, he was one of the best in the business. The Bad Guy had the best working punches ever, and he sold his rear off. While he won TV Titles, US, Tag, and Intercontinental championships he was never given the strap to have a run. Maybe he was just too cool for it?
Number 2
Rowdy Roddy Piper
Talk about talkers, Hot Rod had the gift for gab! He was the best sort of heel wrestler, the guy that could talk smack and you had to nod because he was right! He had a few face runs too, but Hot Rod never won gold, except for a single Intercontinental Title run and a couple tag team title runs. The argument could be made that he never needed the World Title to get over, he was so over already, but he deserved it.
Number 1
The Enforcer Arn Anderson
Part of the 4 Horsemen, Arn Anderson was so good in his prime. I got to see him in the '80s when he and Tully Blanchard came to the WWF, but until I went back to watch his NWA and WCW runs I never appreciated him. He was so crisp in the ring, and unlike many others, he didn't need to yell to make his point.
