Depending on how much light an orchid gets, depending on how much anthocyanin the orchid has within it's cell structure which also transmits to the colors of the blooms, and depending on temperatures that are too low for the orchid to handle, an orchid will show signs of anthocyanin appearing on the leaves and pseudobulbs. In many ways it is a great indicator of the health of the orchid, but in other ways it is a sign that the orchid is stressed. These signals are important to recognize and deal with if necessary!
