Overnight, a driver who almost collided with a K-9 deputy's vehicle decided to flee at speeds of 100+ mph southbound on I-95.

Down the highway, our friends with the City Of Edgewater Police Department spotted the vehicle and were able to successfully deploy stop sticks.

Soon after that, the driver bailed out of the car and ran into the woods, where he was apprehended by K-9 Toki.

Bryant Smith (DOB 6/3/1987) was treated for a bite to his ankle and then transported to the Volusia County Branch Jail on 2 counts of fleeing law enforcement and 1 count of resisting an officer without violence.

Great job all, and thanks for the assist EPD!
